Grow It Eat It Tuesdays launched this week and was very well received. Every Tuesday morning, from 9 am till midday, at Combine Street Community Garden Peter (Lewie) Lewis will be coordinating an urban gardening course with practical tips and strategies to get the most out of your home gardening. “Rather than a lecture, it’ll be a practical session in how to get your garden to be productive and sustainable” We’ll examine why plants look good and what we need to get good results.

“We’re encouraging everyone to bring their home-grown produce to swap or show or ask advice of what’s going right or wrong. At lunch we’ll make up delicious combinations trying out seasonally available fruit and veggies grown at the gardens or at home. It’ll be a great way to get involved with others in how easy food production is. In particular we’re wanting people with different cultural backgrounds to be involved with how they prepare their food and plant varieties that are different to traditional western cooking.”

The sessions will start around 9 am every Tuesday and go through to lunch. They’ll be free to anyone to attend and be held at the Combine Street Community Garden in the Combine Street reserve. Learn, share, socialise and eat.
